イーロン・マスク氏、買収後のTwitterを「スパムボットを打倒し、すべての人間を認証する」

　26日（日本時間）、Twitterが発表した、イーロン・マスク氏による買収。その発表文では、マスク氏のコメントとして、買収の理由のほか、今後のTwitterが目指す姿が紹介されている。

　マスク氏は、Twitterを買収する理由について、言論の自由が民主主義の基盤であり、Twitterが人類の未来を議論できる「デジタルな街の広場（digital town square）」と表現している。

　さらにその後に語られるのは、今後のTwitterの姿。

　それは、「新機能による製品の強化（the product with new features）」「アルゴリズムのオープンソース化による信頼性の向上（making the algorithms open source to increase trust）」「スパムボットの撃退（defeating the spam bots）」「すべての人間の認証（authenticating all humans）」というものだ。

　いずれも具体的な内容までは語られていないが、Twitterを改善するものとして紹介された。同氏は「Twitterには、とてつもない可能性がある（Twitter has tremendous potential）」と希望に満ちた言葉を続け、ユーザーとともにその可能性を切り開くとしている。

"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated," said Mr. Musk. "I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.
